Adoption and the Church

by kevvy @ 25/01/2007 - 08:50:35 pm

As a person who has always had a gay friend or two in their life I often find it hard to understand what all the fuss is about with the whole gay issue, adoption is the new thing the church seem to be jumping on now what next.Let me do church first , I believe in god, its religion I have the problem with, it is the thing that causes problem it gives rules. I think the catholic must be one of the worse, contraception, if the pope said yes how many 1000s of babies would not be born in Africa who have HIV, the spread of that terrible disease would not stop over night but it would help a great deal. So why do they cling on to old laws and outdated rules, and as for adoption, let me say this much. When I was 19 many years ago  I dated a lovely girl call Sally a Jehovah witness, her family tried to convert me but it never happened. We dated for a while and due to family pressure we split after almost two years. Her family was very happy and found he a nice Jehovah boy. They married and all was very happy, until 20 years later I bumped in to a old friend who new sally and I and was upset that family pressure split us. She was still with nice boy who her mum and dad loved but she was very unhappy as he beat her every day, but it is rules you know he was one of them and that was her lot.Now my point is, should we leave children with natural parents who abuse their children, or do we let a loving couple love and cherish that child. Why does it make a difference if its two men or two women, my wife used to take the line it was very wrong until her sister come out, she was hurt and shocked , but once she met her partner and saw how much they cared for each other my homophobic wife grew to understand that love is love, plain and simple, and as she said to me once if you get past the sex and looked at the love they have for each other, nothing else matters.

I agree completely, my sister never officially came out, but she a bit of a wild child, and at 17, me and my boyfriend often find ourselves in the flat we share with her lying a wake at night to the sound of her and her s. She does like guys but prefers s and at first i found it a bit odd, i mean, i found out by catching her 'at it' with Chlo, one of my best mates. But i just accept it. she's not settled down with anyone yet but we're young. When she does, be it with a or a boy. i'll be happy for her.

Hi kevvy,

First thank you for always being their back up me!

I'm grateful!

Then, it's said that almost everyone of us is a biosexual, the difference is your 'focus'. It's which side you emphasize more. It's one of our human basic instinct, so that it can explain why some married people turn out to be homosexual.
